Did you know that pasta is part of the internationally-acclaimed Mediterranean diet, which has been shown to be one of the healthiest diets in the world for preventing chronic disease including heart disease, stroke, cancer, diabetes and obesity?
The Mediterranean lifestyle promotes the consumption of grains such as pasta, combined with large quantities of seasonal fruits and vegetables. Meals can be enhanced with a modest intake of dairy products, eggs, fish, meat or legumes. Extra-virgin olive oil is the recommended condiment and should also be used when cooking.
For Moms looking to adding extra nutritional benefit to quick and easy meals, the Mediterranean diet is a perfect fit! Not only can you feel good about what you’re serving your kids, but it tastes great, too!
